This position is located at the DMV Investigations District Office in Los Angeles.
The Investigations Division is seeking two enthusiastic and dependable professionals for public contact and customer service. The incumbents will directly support the activities and responsibilities of an area command, district office, and headquarters units; collect, organize and analyze documents related to assigned cases; schedule appointments with applicants through phone and/or written formats; conduct in-person interviews with applicants and verify documents presented to authenticate applicant’s identity; assist investigations offices with the more routine phases of administrative and criminal licensee enforcement investigations; gather and analyze evidence; formulate graphs and charts; assist in the preparation of reports of investigation; load, transport, catalog and store evidence; assist in search warrant execution, assist on surveillance in a support capacity; monitor statistics and prepare reports through use of various databases; and perform other duties as required.
Desirable qualifications: a positive attitude; bilingual fluency and/or ability to work through a translator; superior customer service skills; and law enforcement knowledge.
This is a non-sworn position.
This Limited Term position may be extended to 24 months and may become Permanent.
The Investigator employment list will be used as an appropriate list to fill this position. List eligibles on the Investigator employment list may apply for this position. If the selected candidate is on the Investigator employment list, they will be hired in the classification of Special Investigator Assistant and will maintain their eligibility on the Investigator employment list.
