Healthcare Recruiters seeks a full-time (or part-time) onsite Licensed Physical Therapist (PT) for our client’s Sports Rehab Outpatient facility in Los Angeles 90035 . Competitive salary and full benefits. Flexible hours/schedule.

Our client is a stable organization founded in 1996 and has 15 facilities in CA. They provide sport, traditional, aquatic and acupuncture therapy. They need a licensed PT predominantly for the LA 90035 facility and may need coverage in Gardena 90248 if needed.

Must have at least one year PT experience as a licensed PT. Aquatic therapy is a plus. Strongly prefer bilingual Spanish but not mandatory. Flexible hours/schedule especially if coverage needed in Gardena.

Job Description

• Consult patients to learn about their physical condition and symptoms and review their medical history and referrals from doctors or surgeons

• Diagnose movement dysfunction by listening to patients and observing them as they move about

• Develop an individualized treatment plan

• Coach patients and teach them therapeutic exercises and stretches to improve their condition

• Use hands-on therapy such as massage to ease patients’ pain and provide stimulation to promote healing

• Maintain patient records by keeping track of goals and progress while adapting treatment plans accordingly

• Advise patients and their families on in-home treatment options and what to expect from the recovery

process

Responsibilities for Physical Therapist

• Perform initial and ongoing physical therapy evaluations according to APTA standards of practice as well as state standards.

• Develop a Plan of Treatment for each patient based on initial and ongoing evaluations including short- and long-term goals, collaboration demands of other staff members and required patient and caregiver involvement.

• Implement Plan of Treatment on a consistent schedule and adjust this schedule and plan according to patient progress.

• Document patient progress according to approved medical documentation and facility documentation procedures.

• Evaluate mobility, strength and current level of patient function, while setting goals to improve in these areas that are scaled to patient abilities and realistically attainable.

• Report patient progress to patient, patient caregivers and loved ones, facility staff and healthcare professionals involved in ongoing treatment/care of patients.

• Develop a plan for patients following completion of their Plan of Treatment with appropriate in-home care services.

• Maintain professional and technical knowledge through attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, etc.

• Assist other facility staff members as needed to provide care and create a clean,

orderly and effective environment for rehabilitation and physical therapy.
